Watch “I’m Out of Moves with Mooji” on YouTube

I think this is an excellent conversation for people with depression to listen to. And there are so many points that I can make of this. Is it better for me to make some bullet points for you? Or is it better for you to hear the conversation and trust […]

2016 IS GOING TO BE THE YEAR THAT YOU BREAK DEPRESSION!

2015 was the best year I’ve had in a decade and 2016 is going to be yours!  I may or may not always have Major Depressive Disorder, but that doesn’t mean the Depression always has to have me!  And the same goes for you!  I have had some amazing breakthroughs in 2015 that are the result of two new therapies and one oldie but goodie which I will share with you.  2016 is going to be the year that you Break Depression!

Guided Imagery Meditation for Depression

I was feeling really depressed tonight.  When I say “really depressed” it means depressed enough to wish that I could leave this life.  But I have children who love me and whose development would be severely impacted by such a thing.  There is no great tragedy in my life these […]

Physical Activity / Exercise for Breaking Depression

As a person who has endured a life long battle with severe clinical treatment-resistant Major Depressive Disorder I often feel marginalized by people who talk about depression like it is something that can be easily handled with things like diet, exercise, positive thinking, and maybe some Cognitive Behavioral Therapy if it’s really tough.  But the truth is that whether you are dealing with a clinical MDD, or the much more common depression, dysthymia, or the blues, there can be no disputing the fact that a nutritious diet that is low in sugar and processed foods, as well as daily physical activity or regular exercise is extremely important.  The girl in this video seems to really get it, so I thought I’d share it with you.  No matter how severe your depression gets you need to eat right and be active.  I know it’s hard to do.  I am not doing so well in this area myself, but we have to do this to break depression!

Depression Journal Entry

I am feeling very depressed today.  I have been in bed for the last three days.  It feels like someone sucked all of the joy out of me.  Most things I try to do, the techniques I know that can help, seem too hard to do right now.  Notice that […]

Finding Gratitude On This Day of Thanksgiving

If you are finding it hard to find things to be grateful for this Thanksgiving holiday do not despair; you are not alone.  If you feel badly or guilty because you feel ungrateful do not punish yourself for this; you are not alone.  Be kind to your self.  Be gentle […]

Confessions

I seem to be starting most of my sparsely spaced posts because I’ve been going through changes as you will also go through changes as you break depression.  For 9 months I have been holding out on writing about two new therapies that I am doing that are amazing.  I […]

How to Break Your Depressed State of Mind

I am no scientist, doctor, or scholar.  But I have suffered for over 25 years from Depression and I am a student of it.  I look for any and every way to Break Depression as long as it hurts no one.  When people talk of Heaven and Hell I tell […]

Five Minute Yoga Breathing Practice for Peace

Nadi Shuddhi (altornet nostril breathing) is an excellent practice that takes just 5 minutes to do.  It reduces stress, balances energies, oxygenates blood, improves respiration, and calms you down.  Often times if I do AUM chanting my voice is week and shaky.  After I do Nadi Shuddhi my voice is strong and steady.  June 21st is International Yoga Day.  Yoga, especially pranayama (breath control), and meditation are exceptional landscapers of the the brain.  In other words, they slowly and steadily make you mind more calm and clear and able to handle anxiety, anger, and depression if done regularly.

Do Just One Thing

I’ve been neglectful.  I have not been posting weekly which I had promised myself I would do.  I thought that that would be the least I would do.  And still weeks go by without a post.  I have plenty to talk about.  I am making tremendous progress with two new […]

Get the Stress Before the Stress Gets You in Realtime

What if you had a friend who would tell you that your stress level was rising and the reason for your stress? How much better would your days go?  Wouldn’t you stop the response if it was not serving your purpose?  It can be done and it is important for […]

My Earthly Father

He is like a rock that sparks only when struck, and expresses not further. For he only sees what is in front of his own hand, and not yonder. For whilst the son is short on sight, the father is infentesimal in vision. And whilst the son’s mind doth betray […]

Inner Engineering with Sadhguru

Inner Engineering – Master Your Body, Mind, Emotions, and Energies

I want to tell you about a program that really was/is a miraculous blessing to me. Several years ago in the midst of a brutal depressive episode that had lasted for several torturous years I was desperately looking for something to help me. I had active suicidal ideations. I was […]

Two Videos by Noah Elkrief to Help With Depression

Here are two videos “How To Deal With Depression” and “How to Stop Feeling Depressed” by a Noah Elkrief. I could summarize the videos for you but I believe that would be a disservice because it would sabotage their purpose which is to help you to experientially know what he […]

21 Day Gratitude Challenge

I know that it may be hard to feel grateful when you are depressed, but I can assure you that there is something to be grateful for.  Even at times when I was in long protracted periods of immense suffering I still could still find things to be grateful for. […]

“Born In Darkness” – Motivational Video

“Get something from it!  You’re already in pain. Us it!  Do something with it!  Allow it to take you to the next level!  Allow you pain to take you to the next level!”  That’s why it’s there, to take you to the next level.

“Recycle your pain.”

Get back up again, and again, and again, and again.  I did it every day several times a day for years.  I still do it.  Get back up again!!!
